IFAB secures leading quality management standard
IFAB, the Invergordon based fabrication and engineering specialist for the offshore oil, gas and renewable sectors, has been awarded ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system following an in-depth three month audit program under the Lloyds Register Quality Assurance scheme.
Stephen Clark, managing director of Port Services Group (PSG), parent company of IFAB said: “Since our acquisition of the former RBG fabrication and marine support facility at Invergordon in November 2011, our team at IFAB have been working tirelessly towards this important milestone.
“The award of this accreditation allows the Group to move towards our aims of offering a fully equipped, independent provider of services to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors. This award is a testament to the hard work of our highly skilled IFAB workforce.”
Derek Johnstone - Group QHSE manager for PSG said: “The integration of the newly acquired business into the already established and certified Port Services’ QHSE management regime is now complete. This will allow the business to safely enjoy a period of accelerated growth, with a thorough focus on QHSE.”
Jim Gillespie – IFAB Fabrication manager added: “The award of this certification coincides with a major period of increased tendering activity, predominantly related to oil and gas subsea infrastructure projects. We have also benefited from the award of two fabrication contracts, which secures the on-going employment of our highly skilled and market leading workforce.”
