Port Services Group secures major new contract that will create new jobs at Invergordon
Leading offshore logistical specialist Port Services Group (PSG) has secured a major shore base service contract that will create 10 new jobs at its Invergordon base.
The prestigious multi-million pound five-year contract from Wood Group North Sea (Engineering) Ltd will see PSG responsible for supporting all the offshore platforms operated by Canadian company, Ithaca Energy.
According to Paul Clark, PSG operations director, the contract – which is effective immediately - is the first of its type for the Cromarty Firth and could herald other similar work coming into the area over the next few months
“Our various companies have worked extremely hard over the past 12 months to win this contract and we are delighted to have secured long-term employment at Invergordon,” he said.
“We are also delighted to be utilising the Admiralty Quay at Invergordon during the servicing period of the contract. Port Services Group has a long standing relationship with the Bannerman Group of Tain and they have been most helpful during the negotiations.
“This contract is the first for the Cromarty Firth and we are currently in negotiations with two other operators to support further offshore production units in the North Sea.”
The shore based service contract will support the Beatrice Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Jacky platforms.
